Bryte Insurance has been chosen as the Best Emerging Takaful Brand for 2019 at the Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA), which took place on 16 September in Cape Town, South Africa.
Bryte’s Takaful cover is an alternative to conventional insurance, providing tailored, Shariah-compliant personal, commercial, hospitality, engineering, specialised motor and travel cover. This is the second award that Bryte Takaful received in 2019, having been awarded the Best New Takaful Company in Africa at the 13th International Takaful Summit earlier this year, and reaffirms Bryte’s commitment to developing innovative and inclusive products, that speak to the needs of underserved groups.
“Bryte launched our Takaful offering in 2015, as a result of being approached by a number of brokers, with requests for us to develop a product that would be Shariah-compliant and to cater to an untapped market within the South African insurance landscape,” said Sedick Isaacs, Head of Business Support Services at Bryte.
The GIFA is one of the most prestigious international platforms that recognises governments, institutions and individuals, who have exhibited outstanding achievements in their respective fields and contributed to the sustainability of Islamic banking and finance as a viable system within the global international financial architecture. The event was attended by different industry stakeholders from politicians, academics, brokers and business leaders with the Islamic banking and finance sector.
“It is an honour to be recognised for this prestigious award by our industry peers. Bryte recently won the Best New Takaful Company in Africa at the 13th International Takaful Summit, which took place in London from 9-10 July 2019. To be awarded another international award is testament to Bryte’s ability to provide world class solutions and products. The recognition from our industry peers will continue to inspire us to be innovative and a trailblazer in the sector,” concluded Isaacs.
